Doctors without consultant-level training could be drafted into surgeries in order to cut down on waiting times and meet staffing shortages, the Times reports. It says NHS bosses are keen to allow an intermediate class of doctors to work in surgeries for the first time – but some GP leaders are sceptical about the proposal.
