Former Liberal Democrat leader and deputy prime minister Sir Nick Clegg is at the centre of a Whitehall leak inquiry, according to the Mail on Sunday, which reports that ministers are concerned that he has received information about government plans to regulate Facebook. Sir Nick was recently promoted to president of global affairs at Facebook’s owner Meta – a role that puts him on a par with Mark Zuckerberg himself.
