The Observer reports that NHS trusts are promoting private care services in their own hospitals as part of efforts to ease year-long queues, with some offering hip replacements from £10,000 and cataract surgeries for £2,200. It says health experts have warned the trend risks creating a “two-tier” system. The paper also carries an image of US congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene apparently taking a call from former president Donald Trump amid the chaos that surrounded Republican attempts to elect a speaker for the House of Representatives.
