Many front pages focus on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s threat to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine. The Financial Times reports he claimed they would use nuclear force if the “territorial integrity” of Russia was threatened and called for a partial mobilisation of 300,000 reservists. The paper says the warning “sparked alarm” in the West, but notes some have described the call-up as a “sign of weakness”.
