Taking a different angle on the crisis, the Financial Times reports on a “stand-off” between the EU and Russia over natural gas payments. The paper says Russia has declared payments be made in roubles amid swingeing Western sanctions, but European leaders are refusing to do so – insisting they must continue to make payments in euros or dollars. The FT says this row has raised the prospect of a halt in supplies to Europe.
