The reshuffle has been “broadly welcomed” by Conservative MPs, according to the Financial Times, which says they hope the appointments will lead to “less chaos in Whitehall”. The paper quotes what it describes as an influential backbencher as saying the choices seem “sensible”, while another senior MP says “he’s cleared out the dead wood”.
