The Financial Times leads on a warning from the governor of the Bank of England about the possibility of rising inflation as the nation recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic, saying that the risks are now “increasingly-two sided”. The paper reports that Andrew Bailey emphasised that the bank was working on preparations for negative interest rates if the economic recovery “disappointed and on how best to tighten policy if rapid spending growth increased inflationary pressures”.
