“Sunak splashes out” headlines the Daily Telegraph, which reports on Mr Sunak’s plan to cut the household energy bills “crisis” through a government-backed loan scheme for energy firms. The paper adds he is planning council tax cuts for the poorest, but says the moves are “unlikely” to cover the increased bills and 22 million households will “remain out of pocket”.
