The Times reports that the Israeli prime minister has received “private backing” from President Biden to press ahead with a ground invasion of Gaza, according to accounts of private meetings between the pair. It also looks ahead to the visits of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Foreign Secretary James Cleverly to the region on Thursday. In other news, the paper reports that Mr Sunak will press ahead with plans to ban conversion therapy, including for transgender people, after a “backlash” from Conservative MPs.
