NHS waiting times hit record levels on Thursday in spite of the “billions in extra funding from the controversial national insurance hike”, reports the Daily Mail. The paper says the “bleak” figures showed that 6.7 million in England were waiting for routine hospital treatment in July, while the number of people who had to wait more than 12 hours in A&E rose by a third in a month to reach a record of nearly 30,000 people.
