The Daily Mail reports that Boris Johnson has promised to “bash on” and “focus on the things people want” after seeing off a major revolt by his MPs following Monday’s confidence vote.

Boris Johnson was described in The Times as a “wounded victor,” as he lost support of more than four in ten of his MPs in a 63-vote victory over an attempt to remove him from office after 148 MPs ignored his warnings that voting against him would hand Labour the next election.
There is now a question mark over Johnson’s premiership.
On Monday’s confidence vote, The Daily Mirror quotes Tory MP Sir Roger Gale as calling the result “severely damaging” for Boris Johnson, saying he would be surprised if Johnson remained in Downing Street “by the end of autumn”.
According to Metro, Boris Johnson is technically safe from another poll for 12 months following Monday’s confidence vote, but the pressure will build if the Conservatives lose two crucial by-elections on 23 June.
The Daily Telegraph reports that the number of Tory MPs voting against Mr Johnson’s leadership was higher than expected and revealed deep disillusionment of Tory MPs – greater than those facing Theresa May, Sir John Major and Margaret Thatcher in similar votes.
The Guardian reports that Boris Johnson is “clinging to his premiership” after 148 of his own MPs voted to remove him from Downing Street in a vote that exposed potentially terminal rifts in his party.
Daily Star also leads with Monday night’s confidence vote, writing that Boris Johnson remains in power after surviving an embarrassing no-confidence vote from “his own chums”.
According to the Financial Times, Boris Johnson’s 211-to-148 victory in Monday’s confidence vote left him badly damaged and exposed the scale of division in his party.
