Unsurprisingly, Thursday’s front pages are dominated by the revelations of Dominic Cummings to a Commons committee investigating the government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic. The claim that “tens of thousands of people did not need to die,” fills the Daily Mirror’s front page.
The Daily Star chooses to mock-up some coronavirus briefing slides of its own following Mr Cummings’ claims.
“Vengeful” and “embittered” is the way the Daily Express describes the former adviser’s Commons committee appearance.
‘Domshell’ is the pun of the day, it seems. The Daily Mail is one of a few of Thursday’s papers to have used the description referring to Mr Cummings’ forthright evidence to the committee.
It is also what The Guardian highlights on its front.
The Daily Telegraph says Mr Cummings got his revenge by blaming not only the PM but also Health Secretary Matt Hancock for pandemic handling errors.
The Financial Times features his claims that the PM was “unfit” to lead the country.
